Bringing the peace and tranquillity of Northamptonshire’s waterways to everyone, regardless of age, physical or mental ability, through subsidised trips for eligible groups on our specially equipped wide beam boats.

Crusader Community Boating was established as a registered charity in 2015 and provided its first trips for disabled, disadvantaged people in Northamptonshire the following year. The charity is run entirely by a group of willing and hard working volunteers who are responsible for generating their own funding.

 

Since its first season, the charity has continued to offer trips year-on-year, apart from 2020 due to the pandemic, of course. After a two year funding campaign Crusader Community Boating was able to commission a brand new boat, Community Spirit, which was built by Colecraft during the latter part of 2019. Community Spirit entered into service alongside our boat Mountbatten for the 2021 season. We are indebted to our patrons, sponsors and supporters, without whom purchasing this additional boat wouldn't have been possible.
