Individuals with Additional Needs

 

We are able to offer a limited number people with additional needs who aren’t associated with any particular support group the opportunity of enjoying a day trip on our fully accessible, wheelchair friendly boats on the Grand Union Canal near Blisworth and the River Nene in Northampton.

Each person can bring up to two carers with them. You will be grouped together with a small number of other passengers for your special day out. 

Trips on Mountbatten  commence and conclude at Gayton Junction wharf,  Blisworth Arm (see Find Us). Trips on Community Spirit commence and conclude at Town Lock in Becket’s Park, Northampton. Boarding is at 09.50 and your trip will finish around 15.00 hours. Passengers are welcome to bring their own packed lunch can make use of a lunch stop at pubs on route; The Wharf at Bugbrooke for Mountbatten trips or The Britannia for Community Spirit trips.

How Much Does it Cost?
These trips are subsidised and we ask for a payment of just £10.00 per person. Additional voluntary donations are always welcome. Please ask for a form to complete when you come on board if you are able to Gift Aid your donation.
