River Nene Cruises onboard Community Spirit
Our boat, Community Spirit, is ideally suited to providing a river cruise for children from Primary Schools - a classroom away from the school. The cabin can accommodate up to 35 passengers and its flexible seating with tables can be configured to meet your requirements. The boat is fully accessible and includes a passenger toilet and a small galley area.

Full Day or Half Day Cruises
You can book the boat for your school's exclusive use for either a half day (roughly a two hour cruise for £100) or a full day (up to five hours, including a lunch stop, for £200).

To help plan your trip, staff are welcome to arrange a viewing of the boat prior to making a booking. Please email to arrange.

Risk Assessment
Crusader Community Boating operates its boats under a Passenger Licence issued annually by the MCA (Maritime & Coastguard Agency). Before issuing a Licence, MCA carry out an annual inspection of the boat itself and the boat maintenance records. Also inspected are our operating practices and procedures, crew training records, accident record, etc. The annual On-Water Trial includes the inspector witnessing the crew carrying out at least one emergency procedure initiated by them at that time.

The safety of our passengers is of paramount importance.  Whilst onboard, boarding and leaving the boat, the overall responsibility for the safety of passengers lies with the Boatmaster and his/her Crew. The Charity has carried out its own Risk Assessment which is incorporated within our Health & Safety Policy, approved by the MCA. A copy of this Risk Assessment can be provided on request.

From the School's point of view, your own Risk Assessment should cover the transport between the school and the embarkation point on the riverside. If you choose to leave the boat at any point during the trip (lunch stop?), again, the safety of your pupils and staff becomes the School's responsibility.
